planDisney. Your trip is coming up fast! I’m sure you’re all sorts of excited to visit the parks, especially since you’re staying at the beautiful
Disney’s Grand Californian Hotel & Spa. I’ve only had the pleasure of staying there once, but I visit the lobby as often as possible, and the beauty and grandeur of the craftsmen's style design get me every time. You’re in for a real treat.
Another big treat is the convenient location. To answer your question directly, when you leave the hotel from the north entrance, it’s a mere .2 miles to the front gate of
Disneyland Park. It’s definitely the closest resort to Disneyland, and has some other great features as well. Did you know that the Grand Californian has an entrance to Disney California Adventure that bypasses the front of the park and releases you near Grizzly River Run? This shortcut will save you a lot of time and steps. If you’re rope dropping, this is a great way to hustle to the back of the park for
Incredicoaster and
Toy Story Midway Mania.
And let’s not forget that you step out of your hotel directly into
Downtown Disney, which has over two dozen restaurants, 15 shopping locations, and entertainment like
Splitzville, live music at
Jazz Kitchen, and the
Downtown Disney LIVE! Stage. This hotel has everything! Don’t forget the three amazing pools - especially the
Redwood Pool, which features a 90-foot waterslide!
I also must say,
Hearthstone Lounge has one of my favorite
menus in the entire
Disneyland Resort. It’s a beautiful location, the service is amazing, and the food is great. It may be the best French onion soup I’ve ever had! Be sure to grab a
reservation in advance!
