Hello Carolyn, and welcome to planDisney!

Disney has not one but two breathtaking island destinations in the Caribbean: Castaway Cay and Lookout Cay at Lighthouse Point. Let’s start with the newest tropical escape, Lookout Cay.

If your cruise stops at Lookout Cay, you'll step onto a beautiful, long-arched pier about half a mile in length. This design helps protect the natural surroundings, but don’t worry if the walk feels a bit far. Golf carts are available to assist guests. Just check in with Guest Services on the ship before you dock. Once on the island, a tram will take you closer to the beaches, leaving you just about 500 feet from the sand. There are plenty of chairs and umbrellas waiting for you, but if you want a prime spot near the walkway, I recommend arriving early.

Over at Castaway Cay, things work a little differently. Since there’s no pier, the ship docks right at the island. From there, it's about a 300-foot walk to the tram. Golf cart assistance may be available. As with Lookout Cay, check with the friendly Guest Services team to see what might be available. Once you hop off the tram, you’ll have another 400-ish feet before you can dig your toes into the sand.

To make your island adventure as smooth as possible, I suggest filling out a special services form in advance to request any assistance you may need at either destination.

Wishing you a magical and relaxing beach day,
    Anne
