It sounds like you’re looking for what we affectionately refer to as the “chicken exit,” which one of my bonus sons became very familiar with during one of our visits! Intense attractions are not his thing, but he still wanted to experience the immersive queues for attractions like
Expedition Everest – Legend of the Forbidden Mountain and
TRON Lightcycle / Run. Enter the chicken exit! You absolutely can walk through the attraction queues with your family even if you don’t intend to board the attraction. Just let a cast member near the loading area know that you do not want to ride. They’ll walk you over to an area where you can step outside of the boarding zone. For most attractions, they’ll have you wait near the unloading zone so that you can meet up with your family as they exit the attraction vehicle.
Make sure that everyone who plans to enter the queue has their
Lightning Lane Passes booked so you can all stay together. Also, don’t forget to check your

The Twilight Zone Tower of Terror is a priceless memory that I hope to show his kids one day. Needless to say, the chicken exit was his best friend from that point forward.
