Hello! We are going to Walk Disney World for the first time with over Spring Break in April 2019. We would like to visit Magic Kingdom on a lower crowd day but crowd calendars are telling me different things. What is the best way to pick a day to visit?

Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel, Joanna! I love going to the Most Magical Place on Earth at various times during the year. It’s always a different experience.

I’ve been in the dead of winter when folks are bundled up as they walk through Epcot. I’ve visited in the glaring heat of summer where the breezes from rollercoasters are a welcome thrill. I’ve also visited the Parks during Festivals, events and parties. When I’m planning a vacation, the first thing I do is consult the UnderCover Tourist Crowd Calendar (you can google that and it will come right up). It’s my favorite crowd planning calendar because I feel it’s one of the most accurate. The at a glance calendar gives you estimated crowd levels on a scale of 1-10 for each day of your vacation, and even recommends which parks you should visit. As for my personal experience, I highly enjoy late February and early March, before Spring Break crowds amass. I also enjoy early October for Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party before the crowds turn that event into a ghoulish gathering!

If I can help you find off-the-beaten-path activities for times during your vacation when you may hit some foot traffic, please visit again. You may also want to try using Extra Magic Hours in the early morning and then hopping to a different park to escape the crowds. You’ve got a friend in me! ~ Lindsey P.
