Hello Clare,
Thanks for stopping by planDisney with your question. June will be here before you know it and so will your magical vacation!
Most guests know that
Disney Springs is a fun way to spend the day or a free evening or two while in Walt Disney World. It's filled with delicious dining options, unique shopping venues, and entertainment that is fun for the whole family. In fact, it can get quite crowded, especially on weekends.
If you're looking for a more low key place to spend an evening,
Disney's BoardWalk might just be the place to go. You don't need a park ticket or dining reservation to enjoy this charming spot. While there aren't nearly as many dining or shopping options, it's perfect for some relaxing family fun. You can get sandwiches at
BoardWalk Bakery, pizza (whole or by the slice) at BoardWalk
Pizza Window, or head to
Picabu at Walt Disney World Dolphin for a heartier meal. There are some wonderful dessert options all around the BoardWalk, from baked goods and funnel cakes to ice cream and gelato.
You'll also find plenty to do.
Rent a surrey bike to ride around Crescent Lake. Check out the beautiful artwork and maybe even find a piece to take home at Wyland Galleries. Enjoy the street performers who dazzle guest with magic, juggling, acrobatics. You can even try your hand at some traditional carnival style games, although it does cost to play.
For guests over 21, you can dance the night away at
Atlantic Dance Hall, or visit
Jellyrolls and sing along with the talented dueling pianists. There is a cover charge for Jellyrolls, and it fills up quickly, so you'll want to plan ahead to make this part of your evening.
Of course, one of my favorite things about Disney's BoardWalk is that you'll be able to see some of the fireworks from
Harmonious at EPCOT. Of course, you'll want to catch the full show at some point, but it's still a nice treat.
Hope this helps. Mickey can't wait to see ya real soon!
