Welcome to planDisney Elaine!
Ahh, a Cabana on
Castaway Cay. Now this is how I like to vacation! However, the number of Cabanas is limited, so it isn't always easy to secure one of these beauties!
I am guessing all the Cabanas are already booked for your cruise. But don't give up yet! I have had luck getting a Cabana after they were all listed as "sold out." Here are some tricks....
Start with the basic advice of "keep checking." I put it on my "to-do" list prior to my cruise to check the
Disney Cruise Line website once or twice a day in case one opens. It is quick to check, and if you see one become available, grab it! I promise it will not last long!
You might want to check if there is a Facebook group for your cruise. Sometimes, people will post that they are releasing a Cabana which will give you a bit of a "heads up" for checking. You might also want to post that you are looking for one and ask your fellow cruisers to let you know if they plan to cancel their Cabana reservation.
If you get to your cruise and still have had no luck, stop by Guest Relations as soon as your board your ship. Ask to be waitlisted for a Cabana and you will be added to the list and notified if one opens up.
I have actually been successful using each of these methods, so keep trying! However, if one does not open up, you will still have the most magical Castaway Cay day. There are plenty of beach chairs, hammocks, umbrellas, and shady palm trees so you will definitely find a perfect piece of paradise to enjoy the day.
While on Castaway Cay, you will be treated to a delicious outdoor feast at Cookie's BBQ. Indulge in burgers, ribs, chicken, and more. Don't forget to grab one of the extra-large chocolate chip cookies! (Here's a tip: Stop by the ice cream machines to top of your cookie - so delicious!)
Wishing you a magical day at Castaway Cay. Get off the ship early to make the most of this perfect beach day!
