Hi Lydia and welcome to planDisney! Thank you so much for reaching out to me with your question. As you’re aware, the
Walt Disney World Marathon has sold out. With the Donald Duck theming this year, I’m not surprised! Now, let’s talk through some options for getting you to the starting line. On your mark, get set, GO!
Unfortunately,
runDisney does not maintain a waitlist for the Walt Disney World Marathon Weekend or other
runDisney races. I know this may not have been the answer you’re looking for, Lydia, but don’t fret! There are some options available to increase your chances of registering for the 2027 Walt Disney World Marathon:
- runDisney has many participating charities that provide charity bibs in exchange for fundraising on behalf of the organization. This can be a great way to not only secure a bib, but also give back to an organization whose mission you support. I received a charity bib after fundraising for one such charity for Marathon Weekend two years ago and it was such a fulfilling. Here is a list of the participating charities for the Walt Disney World Marathon Weekend.
- runDisney also provides travel packages that include race bibs through the Walt Disney Travel Company and other travel providers. You can contact The Walt Disney Travel Company using the phone number on this website to inquire about details.
- Lastly, runDisney will release bibs for registration from time to time on the runDisney website. While this is generally done randomly, some social media groups often post or alert group members when these bib releases occur.
Lydia, wishing you the best of luck and all the pixie dust that you’re able to register for the 2027 Walt Disney World Marathon! I ran the marathon this past January and it was such an incredible experience running through all four theme parks (especially down the Main Street!) and seeing all of the spectators and supporters along
Disney’s Boardwalk towards the end helped me to finish strong. If you have any further questions, please feel free to
contact me or any of my fellow panelists again!
Your pal,
Sean
