Hi Leah! Greetings from one Palmetto State resident to another.
The holidays at
Walt Disney World are so festive! The parks are decked out with zillions of twinkling lights, thousands of bright red poinsettias, and hundreds of brilliantly decorated Christmas trees. I adore the Mickey wreaths that adorn the lampposts.
The best plan to try a snag a spot for an already full restaurant or dessert party, is to keep checking for
dining reservations to open since there is no wait list. People's plans change and cancellations do pop open. I look on my phone in the mornings before I get out of bed when I'm trying to grab a seat at a full venue. You can also check the day of for walk up availability, though during a holiday week the
Magic Kingdom 50th Anniversary Fireworks Dessert Parties are unlikely to have any walk up capacity. Your best bet for a walk up spot with the
Rainforest Cafe or
T.Rex Cafe is to be there at opening. The week after Christmas is quite popular, so I would not make a special trip to
Disney Springs only hoping for a table, but do check if you plan to spend time there anyway. Some third party sites will check for dining availability to open for you, but I have had no success with this method.
You can create your own dessert celebration for
Magic Kingdom's
Disney Enchantment nighttime spectacular. Load up on sweet treats and find a viewing spot. This plan also has the advantage of being budget friendly.
Enjoy your visit to see Mickey!
