Hello, Cheryl and welcome to planDisney!
Cheryl, I love dreaming about and selecting the perfect accommodations for my family's Walt Disney World Resort vacations, so I'm happy to chat with you about waitlisting a preferred resort. With so many
Disney Vacation Club Resorts to choose from, there is something for every style and mood. If my family is hoping to spend a lot of time at
Magic Kingdom Park, I love staying at
Bay Lake Tower at Disney's Contemporary Resort where we can stroll into the park at our leisure. When we want a laid back escape and plan a lot of resort time, I lean toward
Disney's Animal Kingdom Villas- Kidani Village where we can enjoy our WILDest friends on the savanna.
Now, Cheryl, let's talk about the
rules for waitlisting a Disney Vacation Club Resort. First, if you are NOT a Disney Vacation Club Member and your reservation is booked through a friend or family member, you will need that person to request the waitlist you desire. For example, as a Disney Vacation Club Member, I have booked a room for my Mom for an upcoming stay. While she is the only guest listed on the reservation and it is linked to
her My Disney Experience account, she is still NOT able to request a waitlist because she is staying through my Membership.
If you are a Disney Vacation Club Member, you're welcome to
waitlist a resort for dates that you currently hold a reservation, but make sure to read through
all of the rules and regulations for waitlisting a stay. It's important to note that you can only have 2 active waitlists per Membership per Use Year. Cheryl, if your waitlist comes through, your previous reservation will automatically be cancelled and any additional points needed to secure the reservation will be taken from your account.
I hope this information helps as you're planning for your next trip to the Most Magical Place on Earth. If you have any additional questions, please come on back to your new friends at planDisney!
Wherever you stay, I hope your trip is filled with unforgettable moments.
Lauren
