Is there a waiting list to make a park reservations? Or must I continue to keep checking the calendar on-line? I want to attend more days but to different parks.

Hello there, Thora. Thanks for stopping by planDisney with your question.

I took a look at the theme park availability for the week of your vacation and I can see where the parks are pretty full. At this time, there isn't a waitlist for each individual park. What I recommend is checking back as often as possible to see if any theme park availability has opened up. I've had good luck refreshing over and over again throughout the day. Sometimes, checking at odd times during the night also works. As itineraries change or people cancel their Walt Disney World vacation, spots do open back up. You really do just have to be diligent about checking back.

If spots don't open up at the theme parks you would really like to visit but you are able to snag a park pass reservation to a different park, I'd consider upgrading your theme park ticket to include the park hopper option. Park hopping is where you are able to visit multiple Walt Disney World Theme Parks in one day. Park hopping just recently returned, at the start of this year, and does look a little bit different than it did before.

Here's how park hopping is currently working:
    • Guests wishing to park hop must have standard theme park admission with the park hopper option
    • Guests wishing to park hop must make a park pass reservation for an initial theme park each day
    • Guests must scan in and enter the theme park with the park pass reservation before continuing on to other theme parks throughout the day
    • Park hopping hours now start at 2:00 p.m. and last until each park closes
    • Guests wishing to park hop do not need to make multiple park pass reservations for one day - just the initial one
So, let's say you want to visit Disney's Hollywood Studios during your vacation but you weren't able to secure a park pass reservation for it and there was a spot opening at Disney's Animal Kingdom Theme Park. I would suggest taking the park pass reservation for Disney's Animal Kingdom Theme Park, enjoying that park in the morning and then hopping over to Disney's Hollywood Studios right around 2:00 p.m. I think you will be pleasantly surprised how much of your must-do list you will be able to accomplish there in the afternoon and evening.

Thora, I have my fingers crossed that more park pass reservations become available for your upcoming Walt Disney World vacation. If not, I do think park hopping is a great choice. If you have any other questions before your trip, please feel free to come back and ask me. I'm here to help!

    Have fun!

Meet the Panelist: Jackie, North Carolina

I love all things Walt Disney World.  In fact, since becoming Annual Passholders, my family of 3 is always hopping in the car for a quick trip to visit with Mickey Mouse!  I've been known to make the 8 hour each way drive to Walt Disney World (in one day!) to indulge in a Mickey Waffle or enjoy a sunny day at Disney's Typhoon Lagoon Water Park.  I may have a small family, but we are always up for some BIG fun at the Walt Disney World Resort.   Learn More About Jackie
