Bright Suns, Wendy!
Welcome to planDisney! It sounds like the Force is very strong in your family, I'm sorry that you've been having a difficult time communicating with Savi's Gatherers. Let's see if we can make sure your little Padawan gets the training he needs during your visit to Batuu!
Savi's Workshop is the best place for Padawans young and old to construct their own special lightsaber. Reservations are highly recommended and are usually available 60 days in advance...but sometimes the Dark Side interferes with the Datapads of those who want to complete their Jedi training. I just went to take a look myself, and I'm pleased to report that from my planet (known as Utah, U.S.A.) I can see lots of availability for reservations around your arrival date. So don't worry yet! I would try clearing your browser history and
searching for reservations again. I'm hopeful that your efforts will be successful, but just in case I also want to let you know that you can call (714) 300-7805 if you have more questions.
Because I have some Padawans at my own home I know that sometimes making decisions can be...not fast, shall we say. It might be a good idea to have our son take a look at the different options he will have to construct his lightsaber in advance. Savi's Gatherers will offer your son four different themes for his lightsaber: Peace and Justice, Power and Control, Elemental Nature, or Protection and Defense. He will also be able to choose his very own Kyber Crystal, the heart of every lightsaber!
A little insider tip for you...I recently heard from some Jawas that
Dok-Ondar often has additional accessories for lightsabers in his Den of Antiquities. Don't miss his unique shop! I also highly recommend taking lots of photos around Batuu with your son's elegant new weapon.
Disney PhotoPass Photographers will be happy to give him some Jedi poses, and may even have some extra magic to add to the photos! If you're already planning to purchase
Disney Genie+ then PhotoPass downloads are included...so take all the photos!
I am sure that your son is going to have an epic time constructing his lightsaber, Wendy! I hope it will be an experience he never forgets!
Keep moving forward!
Amanda
