    I waited too long to book our vacation for September 17-24, 2011. We loved the Animal Kingdom Lodge and wanted to stay there again. I cannot get a room there from Sept 21-24th or any moderate resort. Why no rooms that week?

    Hi Kimberly:

    I took a look at the list of Special Events at Disney World for the time period during your stay but did not see any particular reason the Resorts should be at any extra capacity than normal.  I think you hit the nail on the head - you may have waited too long to book your vacation.  While Disney World tends to be less crowded when schools are in session, such as mid-September, it's still a very popular destination, and a lot of Guests are now wise that September is a great time to visit.  Also, a lot of Guests have apparently taken advantage of special Disney offers such as free dining offer that was released during the summer that covered many nights through September.

    I hope you were able to book a reservation at a different Resort.  Maybe you'll find a new favorite.
