Hey Sharon! Welcome and thank you for visiting.
Thanksgiving is the big kick-off to all of the
holiday fun at
Walt Disney World, and it can be a challenge to book a room. To make it even more of a challenge, one of the most popular of the
Disney Resorts Collection hotels over the holiday season is
Disney's Wilderness Lodge. With the rustic, woodsy feel and the beautiful fireplace, it's almost like visiting the most beautiful holiday cabin in the woods.
There unfortunately isn't a waitlist, Sharon, but don't give up hope. First, there are
accessible rooms and facilities at each of the Walt Disney World resorts. If you can possibly consider this trip without a stay at Wilderness Lodge, I'd say go ahead and book at a different resort. Maybe even look at one of the
Deluxe Villa Resorts. My family loves Copper Creek Villas & Cabins at Disney's Wilderness Lodge. The accommodations are Wilderness Lodge level woodsy, but they feel a little more contemporary.
Also, Sharon, you might consider a split stay. Maybe you can get the first couple of nights at Wilderness Lodge but then move to another resort for the end of your trip. I know it can be a bit of a hassle with kids, but you can call bell services in the morning and they'll transfer your luggage to your second resort.
The best thing to do is to keep checking back. People change vacation plans all the time, and you may be able to find something just by being persistent. I'd log in daily with my fingers and toes crossed!
I hope it works out for you, Sharon.
Anna
