Royal greetings, Kim!
Welcome back to planDisney and thanks for running over with your
Walt Disney World Resort vacation planning question. I'm thrilled you've turned to me for advice on spectating at a runDisney event, Kim. As a
runDisney enthusiast and past spectator at several events, chatting about race weekends and spectating logistics is one of my passions! I'm excited to hear that you're planning to visit The Most Magical Place on Earth during
Disney Princess Half Marathon Weekend in 2024 and would be honored to help you with your quest to spectate.
The Disney Princess Half Marathon takes runners on an enchanting 13.1-mile adventure through multiple Walt Disney World Resort
theme parks, Disney Resort hotel areas, and the roadways that connect them. Kim, although course maps for the 2024 half marathon haven't been released yet, I'm happy to provide suggestions based on my previous experiences and past race routes! In terms of Disney Resort hotels, there is one area that offers spectators the easiest experience, in my opinion. Guests staying at the Resort hotels near
Magic Kingdom Park can easily walk or utilize the
Resort Monorail to access the theme park to cheer their favorite runners on as they make their way down Main Street, U.S.A.! Of these options, I think Disney's Contemporary Resort and Bay Lake Tower at Disney's Contemporary Resort offer Guests the ultimate convenience and flexibility for spectating at Magic Kingdom Park or the Transportation and Ticket Center. I'm happy to inform you that Guests wishing to spectate from inside the theme park do not need theme park admission to enter the park before operating hours!
Kim, if you'd prefer to stay at a
Disney Resort hotel outside the areas surrounding Magic Kingdom Park, you'll be welcome to utilize race transportation to reach the start and finish lines for the half marathon. While transportation details for the 2024 Walt Disney World Half Marathon haven't been announced yet, the EPCOT Monorail has been operational during the early morning hours in past years, so you may be able to catch your favorite runner at both Magic Kingdom Park and
EPCOT! Keep an eye on the runDisney website for additional transportation and spectator information to be released closer to the race weekend.
I hope I've provided you with some helpful suggestions, Kim. If you have any additional planning questions, please feel free to stop back by
planDisney or
reach out to me directly again anytime! I'm here to help you make the most of your runDisney spectating experience and I'm wishing you a magical and memorable race-cation.
Warm wishes,
Lauren
