We will be visting Disney in September staying a total of 8 days including arrival and departure days.....on the dining plan and have all our ADR's made for dinner but were wondering if you could suggest some quality quick service locations??

    Mandy:

For me, Disney is all about the dining--even the "quick service"!  PLUS: with a family of six, I'm always watching our budget and looking for value.  Here are some of my favorite picks for not-your-usual-burger-fare:

    • Magic Kingdom:  Cosmic Ray's rotisserie chicken combo with green beans and mashed potatoes has long been a hit for my family.  Honestly, our kids can share one combo, saving a counter-service credit for later!
    • Animal Kingdom:  Frequent visitors to the panel know that I love barbecue and tout the portions at Flame Tree BBQ.  They also have a BBQ salad!
    • Disney Studios:  Probably my least favorite park for counter-service, but Studio Catering has an ample Greek Salad that is a break from all of the Disney feasting on the dining plan.  Starring Rolls' mile-high sandwiches offer a lot of bite for the buck, but it's their desserts that make it an outstanding counter-service on the dining plan.
    • Epcot: Where do I begin?  This is my favorite park in which to eat, regardless of whether it's table or counter service!  Sunshine Seasons' blue-plate line probably provides the best value, though.  And don't miss the dessert counter!  If you find yourself in World Showcase, my pick is either the Cantina near Mexico or Morocco's Tangerine Cafe for fresh fare (get the hummus and the tabbouleh!)
    Wishing y'all a magical vacation!

Meet the Panelist: Whitney, Mississippi

My family of 6 appreciates Disney's value! Although Ft. Wilderness is our second home, we've enjoyed the resorts for business, reunions and romantic getaways. For me, Disney also means dining: last count, I'd eaten at 55 restaurants around the World! Learn More About Whitney
