Visitng dw for 1st time wk of 6/3/12. Hv 6 year old and 8 month old. Trying to decide betwn port orleans or Caribbean beach with discounts about same $. Which would u suggest for cleaniness, convenince and experience. Also is their a sectiongas u prefer?

    Hi Karla,

Congratulations on your upcoming FIRST trip to WDW. I'm so happy to help with your planning!

Given the ages of your children, I absolutely would recommend Port Orleans French Quarter. The resort is more convenient due to its smaller size, has more recently renovated rooms and offers two queen beds in each room.

While WDW keeps their rooms very clean, you'll find that the accommodations at Port Orleans French Quarter have been updated just this past year. With all new carpeting, bedding, tiles, linens, furniture, flat screen TVs and most importantly, queen beds. Caribbean Beach Resort only has two double beds in each room.

For convenience, you'll find Port Orleans French Quarter to be a charming resort due to its much smaller size. Caribbean Beach Resort is enormous in comparison. At French Quarter, you'll be able to get to the resort amenities such as the food court much quicker.

I have stayed at both resorts and if I were returning with young kids, I'd choose French Quarter!
