We will be visitng DW in late June. We have the dining plan with table service. I know that tax and gratuity is not included in the plan. How much do you suggest we budget for those items?

Greetings, Lucianne, from a fellow New Jersey resident!

I'm pleased to hear you've included the Disney Dining Plan in your vacation package for June.  My family has found the Disney Dining Plan to be incredibly cost effective and flexible.  We use it every chance we get while vacationing at Walt Disney World.

You are correct that gratuities are not included when you redeem a table service credit from the Disney Dining Plan.  The rule of thumb I use when budgeting for tips is to set aside $10 per person for each table service meal; that's 20% of a $50 meal.  Typically you won't need this much but I'd rather estimate high than low.

Of course, you'll want to set aside more per person if you plan to include alcoholic beverages with your meals as these are not covered by the Disney Dining Plan either.

Wishing you a magical vacation this June.  Let us know if you need any additional advice.  We'd be delighted to assist you!
