I am visiting with my 21 year old niece. Her very close friend who was supposed to start the Disney college this spring. Was tragically killed in a car crash 2 days ago. Is there any thing, i.e. Brick something to honor her and leave her mark here

Oh Dolores, how tragic. This must be a very difficult time for her and trying to honor her friend is such a sincere gesture.

The sale of the bricks around the Magic Kingdom as well as the Leave a Legacy program at Epcot have been discontinued. At present there isn't anything similar to this offered or in the works that we have heard. There are ways to honor someone while there and I can share some of those ideas.

Random acts of kindness when in the park to other guests is a gesture that is not always seen. Wear a t-shirt honoring your friend while doing this. You can purchase a balloon and give it away or offer your space in line for food or attractions. Buy someone popcorn while waiting for a parade or pass out Disney stickers. There are so many ways to brighten a guests day in honor of your friend who would have done that themselves while working in their college position.

If a trip there is not possible then consider doing some work for a local agency that might help families take trips to the magical Walt Disney World. You can also work with a Florida group called Give the Kids the World which assists family travel to the parks. There are many ways to volunteer with them locally and afar with fund raising. This could be done in honor of the friends name.

Times like this are not easy but most find if they can do something in honor of a lost loved one it helps the healing process. My heart and condolences go to your niece and the families involved.
