Hello! We are visiting the World in October and will be attending Mickey's Halloween party for the first time. Can you shed a little more insight on what to expect? Also, in reference to trick or treating do they sell buckets? Or should we bring our own?

    HI Jennifer,

My family and I attended Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party for the first time last year. We had a great time!

In reference to trick-or-treating, you will be provided with a trick-or-treat bag when you arrive at the Magic Kingdom, so do not worry about bringing your own or needing to buy one. Trick-or-treat locations are set up throughout the Magic Kingdom. When you arrive, you will be given a brochure which includes a list of trick-or-treat locations.

Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party is one of the only times that adults are allowed to visit a Disney theme park in costume. If you are so inclined, this can be fun. When we went, my daughter dressed up as Tinker Bell, and my husband and I also dressed up as fairies! We got so many fun compliments on our costumes as we walked around. We also visited Tinker Bell while we wore our fairy costumes. That is a memory that I will love forever!

Definitely plan to see some of the special entertainment that only occurs during this party. Mickey's "Boo-to-You Halloween Parade" is amazing. Last year, the Headless Horseman has started off this parade! Also, Happy HalloWishes fireworks are amazing. They have included perimeter fireworks which seem to go off all around you.

There are many attractions which will be open during the party; however, not all of them will be. The open attractions tend to be the very popular attractions. Since there are less people in the Magic Kingdom during the party than on a typical day, the lines tend to be shorter, so if there is an attraction that someone in your traveling party loves and it is open, this would be a great time to ride. The list of open attractions will be provided the in brochure you receive.

I hope that this gives you some ideas on your first visit to Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party, Jennifer! Have a great time planning your trip, and please do not hesitate to ask if you have any further questions.
