Hi there Lori Ann!
Congratulations on your Holiday visit to Walt Disney World! I can't think of anywhere more magical to spend Christmastime with family!
You'll be thrilled to find out just how accommodating Disney Dining can be. Given that there's a pretty overwhelmingly large number of child visitors to Walt Disney World, picky-eaters are quite common! You'll find that your server and chef will be able to work together to accommodate the pickiest of eaters, even when ordering from the adult menu. If your teen spots something he'd 'almost' like on the adult menu, ask about substituting a side dish (ie: no risotto, fries instead!) or removing a gravy, sauce or marinade from the meat. Alternatively, you can indeed request an "adult-sized portion" of a Kids Menu item. I've done that many times myself in the past for my picky 'tween boy!
Holiday menus aren't often publicly and officially posted online. You can do a bit of online digging to find last year's holiday menus - or watch for this year's to be posted any time now - on such 'non-Disney fan sites' as The Disney Food Blog and All Ears Net.com. I find these to be great resources to research little tidbits like seasonal menus. Try 'googling' "Holiday Menus Walt Disney World" to find direct links to much of this info.
On the 2013 Holiday Events page of the Walt Disney World website, you'll find a listing of
Holiday Dining at the Walt Disney World Resort (locations and styles of dining offered). I've included the link for you just above (it's the 8th section on the page - click on 'Read More' for the full listing).
I hope this information is helpful to you Lori Ann. Please don't hesitate to write back if you have additional questions. I'd love to hear from you again!
Wishing you a simply Magical time celebrating the holidays at Walt Disney World!
Kirsten
