Hi ! We are visiting World Disney World next January for my mom's 60th birthday. I'm looking for a special celebration. We are 9 + a 15 months old boy. What do you recommend? Thank you !

    Hi Martina,

How wonderful to be visiting Walt Disney World to celebrate your mother's 60th birthday! Let me offer you some ideas for your celebration.

First, be sure to pick up a complimentary happy birthday button for your mother. These are available at Guest Relations at the theme parks, as well as at many other locations throughout Walt Disney World. Sometimes, when wearing a birthday button, a little extra magic might happen. My husband received a free birthday cupcake at the BoardWalk Bakery while wearing a birthday button one year! While extra pixie dust like this is not guaranteed, it will still be fun to hear other guests and cast members alike wishing your mother a happy birthday.

As to a special celebration, consider a specialty cruise. A great option would be a fireworks cruise, either at Magic Kingdom or Epcot. Your party would have your own boat and take a lovely cruise on the waters at Walt Disney World, followed by an amazing view of the fireworks at one of these theme parks.

Another idea would be an evening at the Hoop-Dee-Doo Musical Revue. This dinner show is a hoot-hollering good time, with rollicking fun entertainment and great food. Many guests choose to celebrate special events with an evening at this classic dinner show.

Finally, consider a dessert party. These are a fun and festive way to end a day! I recently attended the Fireworks Dessert Party with Plaza Garden Viewing at Magic Kingdom. With wonderful desserts and a spectacular show, this would be perfect for a birthday celebration.

I hope that these ideas are helpful for you, Martina!
