We'll be visiting the weekend before 4th of July and are first timers. My children are 10 and 13 but not huge roller coaster fans; I want to stay at a Disney resort for the extra amenities and longer hours; where would you recommend staying?

    Hi Shea,

I have an 11-year-old daughter who is also not a huge roller coaster fan, and there are still so many attractions to do at all the Walt Disney World theme parks! I know that you and your children will find many wonderful experiences there.

There are many benefits to staying at a Walt Disney World resort hotel. From Extra Magic Hours to complimentary MagicBands to access to Disney's Magical Express to get to and from the airport and so much more, staying at a Walt Disney World resort hotel is a wonderful choice. Which resort hotel is right for you will truly depend on your unique situation, including your budget, which parks you want to visit, and what is important to you in a hotel. Let me offer you some thoughts in making this choice.

From the link that I provided, you can sort by price range or resort category. This will help from a budgeting standpoint. As the hotels increase in price, they tend to offer more space in the rooms and locations closer to theme parks, as well as more dining options. Also take a look at the themes of the resort hotels. Disney resort hotels are beautifully themed, so this may be important in your decision.

Let me offer you a couple of my favorites. My family recently took at long weekend at Disney's Port Orleans Resort - French Quarter. We were blown away by the intricate New Orleans theme and truly enjoyed this resort. Another of our favorites is Disney's BoardWalk Inn, for a fun theme and the ability to walk or take a quick boat ride to both Epcot and Disney's Hollywood Studios.

As you are getting very close to your travel dates, I suggest that you make your reservations as soon as you can! By calling Disney at 407-939-5277, you can speak with a cast member who can help you with this. Please let us know if you have any further questions, Shea!
