We are visiting for 1 week with our 5 year old daughter, should we schedule breakfast lunch and dinner for all of the days we are visiting? Just trying to figure out if you can drop in on some of the restaurants or if this whole trip needs to be scheduled?

    Hi Kelly!

There are two types of restaurants at Walt Disney World:  Table Service and Quick Service.  Table Service restaurants are like full service restaurants at home.  Quick Service restaurants are kind of like fast food locations at home.  You do not need (nor do they accept) reservations at Quick Service locations.  However, you should make reservations for any Table Service restaurants you want to experience.  The most popular Table Service restaurants fill up weeks and months in advance; the extremely popular fill up close to 180 days in advance!

That said, I have found it possible to walk up to some Table Service restaurants, especially ones located in the Disney hotels, except during extremely busy times of the year.  My recommendation is to schedule those restaurants that you absolutely want to experience and leave the rest of your meals open for spontaneity.  However, if you are on a Disney Dining Plan, then I recommend making all of your reservations before leaving home.  You don't want to be on a Dining Plan and not able to use your meal credits because all of the restaurants are booked solid.

I hope this helps!  Write back with more questions!
