Hello, Cathy and welcome to planDisney!
Cathy, Hip Hip Hooray! Your Magical vacation is only a few weeks away. I’m glad you’re hEAR with your planning question.
Cathy, my family and I just returned from a split stay, so I’m happy to chat with you about moving resorts. Choosing to do a split stay is a great way to not only enjoy two separate Disney Resorts Collection hotels, but in your case enjoy close proximity to different parks!
Since you’re starting your vacation at
Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa, a quick way to get to
Disney’s Beach Club Resort is to make your way to Magic Kingdom Park and then take
Disney bus transportation to Disney’s Beach Club Resort. Alternatively you could first take a bus to Disney’s Hollywood Studios and then take
Disney water transportation to Disney’s Beach Club Resort.
Finally, Cathy, while this likely is not the fastest, on “moving day” my family likes to plan to spend some time at
Disney Springs. Instead of a quick transfer like I described above we might make a lunch reservation, put our name on the virtual queue for Gideon’s Bakehouse or just enjoy shopping at a leisurely pace. Then, when we’re ready, we’ll take a Disney bus to our new resort!
Cathy, I hope this gives you a few options to consider as you’re deciding how to transfer from Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa to Disney’s Beach Club Resort. Cathy, please also take a look at
this question and answer by my friend and fellow panelist, Sarah, about luggage transfer.
Best wishes for a trip sweeter than the treats at
Beaches & Cream Soda Shop and more luxurious than the décor at the
Enchanted Rose lounge! If you have additional questions, come on back to planDisney.
