We are visiting 2nd week of Dec and would like to see the CP at Epcot. (Family of 5 with kids 8, 6, 3) Is it reasonable to go from the Coral Reef restaurant to the American stage area for the show? Can we take a boat? Should we try for another restaurant?

    Katherine:

Having had to go from the American Pavilion (right in front of the stages where the Candlelight Processional is) to Coral Reef on a trip with only about 10 minutes to spare before our dinner reservation, I can tell you that your request is reasonable, but you certainly need more time than what I had allowed to get there!

If you want to take an after-dinner stroll without getting shin splints, you need a good 20 minutes and a stroller for your 3-year-old.

The boat is a fine option (either launch) at the front of the lake and World Showcase, but give yourself almost twice the amount of time than walking due to waiting in line (5 minutes to 25 minutes) plus the ride itself, which is about 10 to 12 minutes.

Coral Reef provides a wonderful dinner backdrop with its aquarium expanding the length of an entire wall--especially for children.  But you know your kids.  If you think you can pad enough time to walk and enjoy the view along the way, or take in the boat ride, do it.  If not, I'd recommend Teppan Edo or Biergarten, a short distance from the event and a fun time for the entire family.

    Wishing y'all a magical vacation!

Meet the Panelist: Whitney, Mississippi

My family of 6 appreciates Disney's value! Although Ft. Wilderness is our second home, we've enjoyed the resorts for business, reunions and romantic getaways. For me, Disney also means dining: last count, I'd eaten at 55 restaurants around the World! Learn More About Whitney
