Hello... We will be visiting the week of Christmas & are concerned about the weather at that time since I have been to Miami at around the first week in December and I found it cold (we are from the Caribbean). Any advice will be appreciated. Thank you

    Hi Vesha,

Congratulations on your upcoming Christmas vacation in Walt Disney World!  Visiting while the Resort is decorated in its finest for the holiday season is on the top of my favorite things list!

Since you will be coming from a warmer climate, you might indeed feel quite a bit cooler on your vacation.  Weather in central Florida can be fickle with unseasonably warm temperatures one day followed by a cold day that has everyone bundling up.  For this reason, I usually pack clothing that can be easily layered.  I like to pack our normal vacation clothing based on average predicted temperatures and then also include 1-2 pairs of pants, sweatshirt/hoodie, a windbreaker type jacket, and hat/gloves.  The gloves that I like to pack are the small stretchy kind that is cheap and easily stowed in a pocket.  This way if we have an unusually cold day or evening, all my family has to do is layer on more clothing.  I am not sure what type of clothing is readily available to you in your area, but sweatshirts and hats are plentiful at the Walt Disney World Resort and can even make a great souvenir.

Vesha since rain can occur at any point, I also like to pack at least 2 pairs of shoes per person so that we always have a dry pair as well as inexpensive rain ponchos.  Rain showers are usually brief and having ponchos on hand can help you continue with your vacation without missing a beat.  However if you cannot find ponchos or forget to pack them, don't worry because most shops sell them as well.  In fact I have quite a collection of Walt Disney World ponchos!

Thank you for your question.  Please come back to the Walt Disney World Moms Panel with any more vacation planning questions that you might have.  We are always happy to help!

    Happy Holiday Wishes!
