We are visiting WDW the week of March 6. One little boy in our group recently lost his mother to suicide. Is there anything special that is available for him to focus less on the grief and more on the joy of his surroundings?

Hi Deborah! I am so sad to hear about this young boy's loss. A trip to the most magical place on earth is just what he needs to focus on happiness.

Try to get this young boy to the things that interest him the most. Are there characters that he especially likes or perhaps Star Wars is a love of his. Get FastPasses for anything that is on his list. Always check with your resort front desk and concierges about getting something sent to the room for him. Perhaps there is a favorite stuffed Disney toy that could be put on his bed one day. Most resorts can get a signed photo of Mickey and have it personalized for him.

Consider going to the Disney Floral and Gifts site. There are many great options for special things to happen and be delivered for this young man during his Disney stay. There are large in room celebrations to a simple treat bag and note. I can assure you that coming back to your room and finding something special waiting for you will bring a smile on anyone's face.

There is so much happening in the parks so be sure and see the parades and fireworks. Keep busy but don't exhaust anyone and I know you will allow this young child to have a dream vacation even during this tough time. Make it a celebration of his life and the memories he had with his mother as those will remain with him forever.
