We are visiting WDW from 12/12/09 - 12/17-09. I have never been there at this time of year. Since it gets dark earlier are there certain rides that close at dusk that we make sure we see before sunset?

    Hi Jennifer,

The parks are beautiful at night, and fortunately, there are only a handful of attractions that close at dusk.  Animal Kingdom has the most since the animals need their rest, but this park is not usually open late - except when there are extra magic evening hours.  Kilimanjaro Safari, Pagani Forest Trail, Conservation Station and Maharajah Jungle Trek are the attractions that you'll want to see during daylight hours.

At Magic Kingdom, Tom Sawyer's Island closes at dusk.

Hollywood Studios has several live stage shows.  Although, they don't close at dusk, there are only a specific number of shows each day.  Make sure to check the daily park schedule so that you don't miss something you really want to see.  You can also get an unofficial schedule by visiting Walt Disney World Entertainment.  Click HERE to be directed to the site.

Hope this helps.  Have a magical vacation!

Meet the Panelist: Diane, Georgia

After spending 25 years in RI, my husband and I relocated to GA with our youngest, who is now in high school. I took my first trip to Walt Disney World when I was 11 and I have traveled many times since then with all different party sizes. From creating our first itinerary as a honeymooner to later creating magical experiences for our multigenerational family gatherings, every aspect of planning a vacation has been pure joy to me.  Learn More About Diane
