    Visiting WDW for the 3rd time, 9/28 to 10/3. In the past we've gone late Feb/ early March. Never trouble with crowds or weather! Read something about a race, and I'm concerned about the increase in crowds. What can I expect in comparison to past trips?

    Hi Jamie,

    Late September/early October is a great time to visit Disney World.  The crowds are typically very light and the weather is still summer-like.  The race you keep hearing about, I believe, is the Expedition Everest 5K that will be held on September 26th.  I know of several people running this race, and many are just coming in for the weekend.  I think you'll find that most runners have left or are getting ready to leave by the time you arrive.  The free dining promotion also brings in several guest, but I still think you'll find relatively low crowds - very similar to what you are accustomed to.
