Visiting WDW 8/23-8/29 and staying @ the Dolphin (RN discount) so ineligible to get the dining plan, paid or free. Any suggestions on eating on a budget for 3 adults ( Mom, Dad, & Nana) and 3 kids (7, 13, 15 y.o.) thanks for any & all suggestions!

    Hi Beverly,

I think you did okay with the Dolphin discount. Room discounts often work out to a better deal than dining for a lot of guests. You also will need to find your own transportation to this resort as Magical Express is not included for your resort.

My family usually eats breakfast in our room. We bring cereal from home and buy milk at our resort. This an easy way to save money. We also pack snacks as well to cut down on our snack budget as well.

For quick service meals, you can split them among light eaters as some meals are large. In addition, some restaurants such as Sci Fi Drive in Theater and Tony's offer the same menu at lunch as dinner yet they are priced more at dinner so eat at these restaurants only for lunch.

While buffets are great, they are usually the more expensive meals. If your children are not into the characters, skip these meals and head to a standard table service. I do recommend that you treat yourself to one fun dining experience to make it memorable.

    Wishing you magical vacation!
