I am visiting WDW with my 2 sisters and we can’t wait for all that the parks have to offer inc all those lovely snacks! They already have a list inc Mickey pretzels, churros etc. I would like to join them but I req gluten free - is that possible?

    Hello Lyndsey,

Welcome back to the Disney Parks Moms Panel and thank you for asking us another question!

One of my closest friends has celiac disease, which means that she can’t eat any gluten at all and that she’s particularly sensitive to cross-contamination. In spite of this, she described her visit last summer to Walt Disney World Resort as “heavenly” because of how many things she was able to eat during her visit!

Almost every Walt Disney World Resort restaurant has some excellent gluten free options, including the ones that serve typically off-limits food such as pizza and pasta. In fact, there really are some great gluten free treats throughout the Disney Parks, and from what I understand, even Mickey Bars are included in that list! You’ll be able to indulge in some lovely with your sisters, although you may have to make some slightly different choices.

If you do visit Disney Springs with your sisters (and I really suggest that you should!), you should absolutely visit the best place for gluten free treats: Erin McKenna's Bakery NYC. You’ll be able to find all kinds of safe treats for everyone there. There are also some great gluten free treats at The Ganachery and even Sprinkles

If you want more treat ideas and other suggestions for your upcoming visit, I’d highly recommend checking out some unofficial sites, such as Allergy Free Mouse and Gluten Free & Dairy Free at WDW.

Finally, because ingredient lists and suppliers are always changing, please ask as many questions as you have when you arrive at a Disney dining location so that you can make sure any food you’d like to eat is still “safe”. And please don’t forget that you can ask the Special Diets team any questions that you may have before your trip by emailing Special.Diets@DisneyWorld.com at least 14 days before your arrival.

Please don’t hesitate to come back and see us if you have any other questions.

    Have a Magical Day,

    Lynne
