Hi Suzanne!! Greetings to a fellow Georgian!!!
There is definitely so much you can do on your off day from the theme parks while on your Walt Disney World Vacation!!
The first stop I would recommend is visiting
Downtown Disney!!! This is quite the entertainment, shopping, and eating hub of the Walt Disney World Resort. You will easily be able to enjoy many hours at Downtown Disney exploring the great shops and wonderful restaurants it has to offer!!!
I would also recommend Resort Hopping!! I love doing this on my Walt Disney World Vacations. It allows me to visit different resorts that I may not get to see otherwise. I would recommend taking Disney Transportation from your resort to one of the theme parks and then hopping on another form of Disney Transportation to a different resort and enjoy the sights and sounds of the resort. Some of my favorite resorts to hop to are Disney's BoardWalk Resort, Disney's Grand Floridian Resort and Spa, Disney's Contemporary Resort, and Disney's Polynesian Resort.
You can also enjoy the pool(s) at your resort! This is always a great way to unwind and relax after days in the theme parks!! It is often difficult to slow down and relax on a Walt Disney World Vacation and I am glad to hear that you have planned time to do so!!!
Thank you so much for your question!! Have a magical trip!!
Scott
