Visiting WDW from 4/3-4/11. On one of our 'free' days, hubby and the kids are going horseback riding at Ft. Wilderness, so I find myself with a few hours of 'me time'. Any suggestions for a fun adventure or tour that would be suitable?

    Hi Kristi,

Thanks so much for visiting the Disney Parks Moms Panel with your question. One of my family's favorite places to stay at Walt Disney World is Disney's Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground. We have taken part in so many activities at this resort. I am sure that you will be able to find something fun to do!

Take a look at all of the recreation options available at Disney Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground. There are so many activities! Let me recommend some of my favorites. On a recent trip with a number of my friends, I did the Wilderness Back Trail Adventure. We had a laughing good time learning to ride Segways, and then taking them on a scenic tour of Disney's Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground. It was a great way to see this resort from a new perspective. You also may enjoy renting a canoe or bike and partaking in a peaceful ride around the resort. All of these adventures leave from the Bike Barn, located near the Meadow Recreation area of Disney's Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground. You should call ahead to book a time for the Wilderness Back Trail Adventure. Bike and canoe rentals can likely be handled the day that you want to do them.

If you are looking for some pure quiet time alone, you could also head back to the Settlement area of Disney's Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground. You could enjoy a beverage at Crockett's Tavern, which has a great porch for rocking and watching the world go by. The beach is also close here and is a serene place to lounge.

All of the locations around Disney's Fort Wilderness Resort & Spa can be reached by using the internal bus system.

I hope that this information is helpful for you, Kristi. Have a great time planning your vacation, and please do not hesitate to ask if you have any further questions.
