We are visiting WDW in Oct 2011 and I'm wondering about sit down breakfasts. I know that the character breakfasts require a reservation but what about other sit down buffet in non-character settings? We are staying at the Beach Club resort.

    Hi Patrick!

Unfortunately, the answer is "yes".  Walt Disney World Resort is very popular with very popular Table Service Restaurants.  A lot of places will not even consider taking a "walk up", so I definitely recommend making as many reservations as possible.  Reservations can be made at (407) WDW-DINE or online.

That said, if you find yourself without a reservation one night, then definitely try to walk up.  Based on my experiences, you will have an easier time getting into a restaurant at a resort hotel than a theme park, except for places like Chef Mickey's.

Also, since you are staying at the Beach Club, you should know that there are several nice places to eat in the Walt Disney World Swan and Dolphin hotels, a short walk away.  I've never had a problem getting into a place there without a reservation, even during the busier times of the year.

    Have a magical vacation!
