Hello, I will be visiting WDW in November 2015 and I am trying to find some info about the Amphicars at Downtown Disney. I am wondering if you are able to ride these without eating at The Boathouse. Also is this something you can pre book and how? Thanks!

    Ahoy, Jennifer!

Thank you so much for your question. My family and I just took our maiden voyage on the Amphicars at The BOATHOUSE just a few weeks ago. You do not have to dine at the restaurant to take a ride in these unique boats. Currently, they are not taking reservations for the Amphicars. Once you arrive at the restaurant, simply visit the gift shop where you can check in and pay for your ride.

Your crew size must remain relatively small. My husband sat in the front and he was comfortable. However, I sat in the back with my 8-year-old and 11-year-old sons and it was a very tight fit. My boys are average size for their age and I am an averaged sized woman. If either of us were any wider the doors would not have closed.

During your adventure, there is a photographer that snaps pictures of you as you glide along the water. After your journey you are able to purchase the photos in the gift shop.

    Bon Voyage, Jennifer!

Meet the Panelist: Rachel, Wisconsin

Hi, I’m Rachel! I am a “boy mom” to two rowdy little men at home and married to my high school sweetheart. I am fortunate enough that my prince charming loves all things Disney just as much as I do! For me, planning a trip to Walt Disney World can be just as magical as being there. It brings our family together as we dream, plan, and count down the days. I would be honored to help plan your visit and share in your family’s very own magic! Learn More About Rachel
