Hello! Visiting Wdw next week. I have teenagers, who will do a few rides on their own. Do they need to set up their own disney app with ticket/lightning passes

    Hello Jessenia!

Welcome to planDisney! Oh, I'm so excited for you! You must be madly packing and planning for all the fun ahead of you. I am heading down in a few weeks and I just purchased a few ponchos for the trip as this time of year is very rainy and I do not want to be caught blind-sided and soaked.

Your teenagers have the choice to make their MyDisney accounts or just remain managed by you. It really depends on their age and their planning preferences. People 13 and under have no choice and must be managed by an adult as they cannot create their own MyDisney account. If they are 13 and older they can create their own account and manage their own plans. If you continue to manage their plans for the rest of their lives, know that it's perfectly fine! I manage the plans of some adults in my family who do not want to do it on their own. I set up their Lightning Lane return times for the day and managed their tickets. You can do the same for your kids as well and if their tickets are linked to a MagicBand+ or a ticket card they can use that to enter the Parks and any Lightning Lane entrances or Virtual Queues you have set them up for. You do not need to be with them to redeem them.

If your teens who are 13 and older want to make their own plans for the day and you don't want to manage them they can go ahead and do that by creating their own MyDisney account. Just link their tickets to these accounts so that they can select what they want. Just know that unless they are 18 years or older their payment information will not be saved in the My Disney Experience App. Your teens who are younger than 18 will have to manually enter their payment information each time if they are looking to purchase Lightning Lane Multi Pass, Lightning Lane Single Pass, or even use Mobile Food & Beverage Ordering

I hope this helps you in figuring out how to handle your holiday with your teens!

    Happy Planning!
