Hi! I will be visiting WDW for New Year's Eve & wonder where I can watch the fireworks without going into the Theme Parks (since I will be at Hoop Dee Doo for dinnershow at 8:30pm). Also, any idea when the parks attendance starts to drop in January?

The Hoop Dee Doo is such a great place to ring in the new year, Sandra!  Great choice.  And the good news is that you most certainly will be able to catch those midnight fireworks, even outside of the theme parks.  Since you're close, I'd recommend heading over to the Polynesian and staking out a spot on the beach there.  It'll afford you a prime place from which to view the colorful explosions in the sky.  Alternately, you could also see them from the grounds of the Grand Floridian, if that is a more appealing option to you.

As for when the holiday crowds will start to diminish, I would venture to guess that there will be a notable decrease on the second of January.  Have a great time!  And Happy {early} New Year!
