Hi Abby!
Your Walt Disney World Resort vacation is just around the corner - I'm sure you're getting excited about your upcoming visit!
What a magical way to kick off your Disney vacation - with a fun lunch at
Chef Mickey's. It's such a great dining experience, and an awesome way to start your vacation - immersed in all the fun!
While getting to Chef Mickey's by 12:55 will be a tight squeeze, I think it's completely doable, as long as your flight arrives on time. I hope you're planning to take advantage of Disney's Magical Express, and their complimentary luggage delivery, because that will save valuable time at the airport! With Magical Express, you'll place special luggage tags on your checked bags before leaving your home airport. Once you arrive in Orlando International Airport, make your way down to the Disney's Magical Express area (Side B, Level 1) to board your comfy motorcoach. All you'll need to board the Magical Express bus is a tap of your MagicBand, and you'll soon be on your way. Your luggage will "magically" arrive at your resort later that day!
I typically plan for and expect about two hours (or less) from the time I land until the time I'm completely checked in at my resort hotel. If that holds true for you, that should leave you a little over an hour to make it to your dining reservation. As soon as you're checked in, my advice would be to hop on a bus to Disney's Magic Kingdom Park, and then take the walking path over to Disney's Contemporary Resort. As you exit the bus and head towards the park entrance, the walking path is to the right, on the other side of the bus stalls. If you have time to spare, you could also choose to walk to the Resort Monorail station, past the Magic Kingdom park entrance, and catch a Monorail to the Contemporary.
I hope this helps with your planning - have a magical day! - Diane W.
