I am visiting WDW in March to celebrate my sons 5th birthday. Are there any cant miss things to do? We have Character Dining reservations and he is going on a pirate cruise. Thanks in advance.

    Hi, Ikia!

There is no better place to celebrate a 5th birthday than in Walt Disney World!   You are off to a great start with your celebration with a character meal and a pirate cruise.  Here are a few other ideas:

-As part of his birthday gift, give your son a Disney Gift Card.  You can even have it personalized!  This way he can pick out something special during his vacation.

-In lieu of an autograph book, bring an oversized birthday card for the characters to sign.  What a great keepsake for his birthday!

-Bring along some decorations and even a sign for your resort room door.  It will be fun for him to be surrounded by birthday reminders.

-Stop by Guest Services where your son can get his free Happy Birthday button so everyone knows he is celebrating.

-For a very special surprise, schedule a delivery from  They have some amazing designs from balloons to full In-Room Celebrations.

-Make a note on all your resort and dining reservations that you have a Birthday Boy.  They sometimes have a few special treats to help you celebrate.

Enjoy your birthday celebration in Walt Disney World!  Take lots of pictures to remember this very special vacation.

Meet the Panelist: Cathy, Ohio

Hi, I'm Cathy from Cleveland. I love to travel, especially in the winter to escape the snow and cold of Ohio! My husband and 2 kids share my enthusiasm for travel, so we enjoy our adventures together whether it is hiking at a National Park, sailing on a Disney Cruise Ship, or going to Walt Disney World which is our home away from home. My husband proposed to me in front of Cinderella Castle and we have not stopped visiting ever since! It's a blast helping guests here at planDisney!
