We will be visiting WDW March 30 - April 5 2014. I will be traveling with my mom and my 8 year old daughter. There are many options for Character Dining. In your opinion which are the best?

Hi Jennifer! You are correct in that there are many good character dining opportunities at Walt Disney World for the young and the old. Since you mentioned you have a daughter she might love to dine with some of the Disney princesses. My favorite one in this category is at Akershus in Norway Pavilion in Epcot. Here you can meet and greet many of the famous Disney princesses. The other popular option is dining at Cinderella's Royal Table which allows you to enter the Magic Kingdom castle to dine. But you will not have the variety or number of characters in this location.

My favorite place to meet the famous "BigFive" characters would be at Chef Mickey's in the Contemporary Resort. Mickey, Minnie, Donald, Goofy, and Pluto will be glad to pose for pictures and autographs during your meal whether you choose breakfast or dinner.

Other popular park character dining includes Tusker House in the Animal Kingdom, Garden Grill with Chip and Dale in Epcot, and the Crystal Palace with Winnie the Pooh and friends.

My favorite resort character dining includes Cape May breakfast in the Beach Club Resort, and O'Hanas in the Polynesian Resort. You can also cruise with characters on the Pirates and Pals fireworks cruise where Mr Smee and Captain Hook and maybe Peter Pan will keep you entertained for the evening.

Beyond the character dining there are also great meet and greet opportunities in the parks with my favorite being in Epcot where all the famous faces hang out together!
