We are visiting WDW Mar 1-Mar 7th. This is our 1st time with an infant. Our daughter will be 16 months. Do they allow us to bring our own food/water in the parks for her? Also, what can we expect as far as crowd levels/weather for that week?

    Hi Jamie!

My daughter's first visit to Walt Disney World was when she was 7 months old and my son's first visit was when he was just 4 months old.  I'm so glad that my wife and I decided to bring them at such early ages because they seemed to really soak in all of the sights and sounds.  Walt Disney World is such an awesome sensory experience for infants, toddlers, and preschoolers.

As far as food goes, you'll be fine to bring your daughter's food with you into the theme parks.  The only restrictions I know of are alcoholic beverages, which won't be an issue here, and glass containers.  However, I've heard that the glass container rule does not apply to baby food.

The other restriction I've heard about is regarding coolers.  You'll be okay with an insulated lunch bag or other similar container.  However, I wouldn't try to bring in a huge cooler.

As far as crowds go during the first week of March, you should be visiting right before the spring break rush.  When I've been there during that time of the year, I noticed that the theme parks were not as crowded as they are during peak seasons (e.g. spring break, summer, and the holidays).

Weather, on the other hand, is a little harder to predict during that time of the year.  Overall, it's been my experience that you'll be fine for shorts and short sleeve shirts during the daytime, but will probably want to change into pants and long sleeve shirts in the evening hours.  If you get caught by surprise, and don't have enough of a type of garment, the gift shops have some awesome options that will help you supplement your wardrobe!

I hope that helps and I hope you have an awesome vacation!!
