Hey Nicola,
Welcome back to planDisney! Food at Walt Disney World is one of my favorite subjects, so I’m thrilled that you stopped by with this question. If there’s one thing that’s guaranteed to be constant at Disney Parks around the world, it’s change. Even Walt Disney himself famously said that “Disneyland will never be completed. It will continue to grow as long as there is imagination left in the world.” That quote has been what drives change at Disney World, too. Disney changes and reinvents menus across the resort periodically to keep things current and feeling “new.” While it’s pretty great that frequent visitors have something new to look forward to, I get that it can be disappointing when your favorite things disappear.
It looks like
Ale & Compass Restaurant introduced a few new menu items this summer. It also looks like while those updates were being made, the breakfast buffet was discontinued. I’m sorry that the buffet is no longer available there, but here are a few comparable all-you-care-to-enjoy breakfast experiences that might be of interest:
Whispering Canyon Cafe - the signature skillets have delicious options that may cause involuntary mouth watering - beware!
Boma - Flavors of Africa - this buffet truly left me speechless. The food was amazing and you really must have the bread pudding if you eat here.
Both locations feature delicious breakfast buffets that will leave you wishing you had another stomach to use. Either experience would be a slam dunk for your vacation, Nicola. These are table service dining experiences, so be sure to book them 60 days prior to your arrival date. My fellow panelist Emma provides great instructions for
doing that here.
I hope this information was helpful, Nicola. If you have additional questions about your upcoming visit, please visit us at planDisney again soon. TTFN… ta-ta for now!
