I am visiting WDW on June 14-20. I was wondering if it rains a lot in that time frame?? Do we need to bring our Mickey Mouse Rain Ponchos??

    Hi Jessica,

A rain poncho will, more than likely, come in handy during the month of June, as it is Orlando's rainiest if you look at historical averages.  Don't worry, though, most summer shows last for a few minutes and, their "grand finale" is often the blazing sun.  I usually stop at my local dollar store before our trips and stock up on ponchos for my family.  They are much less expensive than those sold at the parks, and I have yet to master the art of re-folding a wet poncho.  By spending only a dollar, we guiltlessly treat them as disposable.

If you are using a stroller, be sure to pick up a few to drape over the stroller to protect your tot(s) as well.

Finally, if you do decide to buy the ponchos in the parks, I've found that the child-size are too long for toddlers.  Instead, I usually ask a Cast Member for a large shopping bag at the register, and with a few snips from a scissor, create the perfect toddler-sized rain gear, for free.  (Just cut a hole for the face a few inches from the top seam and two arm holes.  You'll have a built-in hood with his method.)

    Have fun!
