We're visiting WDW in June and have dinner reservations for all nights which means counter service for breakfast and lunch. What counter service breakfasts do you recommend (besides hotel and that great cinnamon bun at Gaston's tavern?

    Hi Lois:

My family follows the same plan.  Sit down dinners at night to regroup and reflect, and counter service during the day to make sure we stay on the go and concentrate on the Parks or pool.

There are wonderful counter-service breakfasts at Resorts, such as at Polynesian and Pop Century.  But it seems you want to concentrate on Parks.  My new favorite breakfast spot is the Starbucks Main Street Bakery in Magic Kingdom.  I know many head to Disney World for an escape, but I also enjoy having that small Starbucks connection to home.  The bakery is more Disney-themed than Starbucks themed, so you may enjoy the experience.  I also love the Writer's Stop in Hollywood Studios.  Located in a tiny almost-hidden nook, it's hard to miss but worth the find.  The atmosphere feels like a spot where Hollywood writers would hang out in the 1950's.  I'm not sure if it's the food or the environment, but pastries seem to taste better here.

    Enjoy your vacation.
