We are visiting WDW in June! Cannot wait! My questions is: my son has special needs...cannot walk..stroller is wheel chair. Do I need to talk to someone prior to my trip to ensure that we get a wheel chair sticker for the stroller.

Hi Helen and welcome to the Disney Parks Mom's Panel. Like you, I have a son with special needs who we have taken many times to Walt Disney World. I'm so happy to answer your question today about how to make your son's visit to the Parks go as smoothly as possible. First of all, don't worry...you do not need to talk to anyone ahead of time. Your first day at the Disney Parks, please stop by Guest Services first thing. Here you can request a Stroller as Wheelchair tag. You will attach this tag to your stroller as it will tell the Cast Members throughout the Park that your stroller acts as a wheelchair and your son has needs that require their special attention. In addition to the Stroller as Wheelchair tag, you can also ask for a Disability Access Service Card. This is designed to assist Guests with special needs who have a difficult time waiting in long lines. For more information about the many services offered to those with disabilities, take a look at the Services for Guests with Disabilities page of the Walt Disney World website.

I know from experience that planning ahead makes the entire Disney experience for special needs children even more fun and exciting so please let us know if there is anything else we can do to help you in any way. Have a wonderful day and a magical vacation!
