    Hi, we are visiting WDW in July this year. We are staying off site but looking to stay at a disney resort for a few days within our trip. As we will be visiting the parks before we stay at the resort do I need to purchase my own magic bands?

    I'm so excited to hear you are planning a trip to Walt Disney World Resort. As a huge MagicBand fan, I love that I don't need to worry about keeping up with my theme park tickets or Disney PhotoPass Service cards while I'm touring the Walt Disney World Resort. Everything is right there on my MagicBand! 

    Since you plan to stay at a Walt Disney World Resort hotel, you will receive complimentary solid-colored MagicBands with your stay. You are welcome to use them prior to check-in, but any of the theme park tickets, dining plan credits or charging privileges associated with your on property stay will not be accessible until after you check-in. Therefore, you will need to purchase additional theme park tickets if you plan to visit the parks before your on property stay and link them to your My Disney Experience account.  

    If you prefer to have graphic retail MagicBands for your visit, select items are available for purchase before your trip. You can even have them shipped directly to your home by visiting the Disney Parks online store or downloading the Shop Disney Parks mobile app. You can also use this app while in Walt Disney World Resort to locate specific merchandise anywhere in the resort. It makes shopping for items even more magical!
