We will be visiting WDW from January 8 to the 13th. My mother is giving us tickets as a Christmas gift. Will we be able to use these tickets (under the new system) to upgrade them to annual pass renewals?

    Hi Fiona,

Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel and thank you for asking us a question!

I can’t think of a more magical Christmas gift than a gift that will allow you to visit Walt Disney World Resort! The answer to your question depends on the type of Theme Park Tickets that your mother will be purchasing for you. Often, tickets purchased using a Special Offer (such as the new Theme Park Ticket Offer for Canadian Residents) aren’t “upgradable”.

If, however, the tickets purchased are full-price tickets, then you will likely be able to apply their value towards the purchase of an Annual Pass, provided you have at least one day of admission or other entitlements left on the tickets, and that these entitlements haven’t expired. If you have any questions, I encourage you to visit Guest Relations once you arrive or to contact Walt Disney World Resort once your tickets have been purchased in order to inquire as to their potential upgrade status.

    Have a Magical Day,

    Lynne
