We are visiting WDW in January of 2016 but will be lodging with my in-laws who live nearby. Are the dining plans only available if you are staying at a WDW resort hotel, or can you purchase one independently for the days you are visiting parks?

Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel, Laura!

I am happy to help you plan your Walt Disney World Resort vacation. January will be here before we know it! Unfortunately, Disney Dining Plans are only available for Guests who will be staying in a Walt Disney World Resort hotel. When our family has visited Mickey and friends as day Guests, we often choose to eat breakfast where we are staying prior to our day to save a little bit of money.  That will leave us more for Dole Whips, popcorn and other treats in the parks!

Let us know if you have any other questions as you get ready for your trip! T-T-F-N, ta ta for now!

Hi! I’m Crystal and I’m a wife and mommy to three little Mouseketeers. My husband and I have been enjoying Disney Parks since before we were married, and now we take our children to see Mickey and the gang as often as we can, while  managing my oldest son's food allergies. Planning is key for my family to ensure that everyone has a safe and fun trip to our favorite place and it can be just as exciting as the trip itself. I can’t wait to help you plan your next adventure there, too! Learn More About Crystal
