Visiting WDW in Jan 09 for the first time! Am I able to bring a back pack into the parks and if so,is there a safe place to store it while on a ride. Thanks

Hi Stephanie.  You can certainly carry in a back pack with what you need for yourself and/or your family for the day.  My husband regularly laughs at how much I actually carry into the parks.  I'm a big fan of carrying small snacks to save a few dollars on concessions, for example.  I've never had a problem fitting my well-stocked bag onto any of the attractions (including Space Mountain).  However, should you want to "unload" some of your gear during the day, there are lockers available for rent at each of the theme parks.  Click HERE for specific locations within each park.  Also, please note that all guests entering the theme parks with bags of any kind must go through a security screening where officers ask you to open your bags.  There are specific security lines for guests without bags that move a bit faster.  Like most moms, however, I know I'll probably never go through one of those!

I think first trips to Walt Disney World are magical!  Have a wonderful time!
