Hi! I will be visiting WDW with my husband staying at the Caribbean Beach Resort, we last visited WDW with our children back in 2018 (All Star Resort). What are the main things that have changed since 2018, that I need to be aware of? Thank you!

Hi Alison, welcome to planDisney. When I first read your question, I thought, wow, what a few years we've lived through since 2018? But then I remember that one thing always remains consistent. The magic of a Walt Disney World adventure. That unrivalled sense of wonder and thrill is always found here.

Here are the main things I think you need to familiarise yourself with.

My Disney Experience is essentially the home of everything Walt Disney World on your visit. It can act as your planner, ticket entry, resort door key, and you can even order your food using the App. It's worth downloading ahead of your trip and adding your fellow Guests to your Party.

Disney's Genie Service is also new since 2018. Three levels of Genie service are provided (all accessed through My Disney Experience). The first is the complimentary Genie, where you can enter your preferences for the day, and it will create a unique suggested itinerary for your group. Next up is Genie+, a purchased service that can give you booking access to eligible Lightning Lanes (think old FastPass). The final is Individual Lightning Lanes for the latest and greatest rides. You can purchase a single access time for the queue for rides such as Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind. Again, a new addition since 2018, and a total firm favourite in my view. In fact, there are so many new experiences to discover, Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge, Journey of Water, Inspired by Moana, to name just a few.

You'll have direct access to my number one complimentary Disney transport option, the Disney Skyliner, as a Guest in Disney's Caribbean Beach Resort. It's the perfect way to access EPCOT and Disney's Hollywood Studios. All Disney Resort hotel Guests can book dining reservations for up to 10 days of their trip 60 days before arrival. This is a perk I highly recommend using, especially if you have particular Character Dining experiences in mind.

Alison, I hope this information helps you to create more magical memories together at Walt Disney World. Please do pop back if you have any further questions.
